Sex is an amazing part of who we are.  Sex has the ability to bring joy, intimacy, fun, and pleasure into a person’s life.  It can also be a source of unhappiness, frustration, shame, or guilt.  If you’re visiting this page, perhaps your sex life isn’t what you would like it to be.  I would like to help!

Sex therapy is a special form of psychotherapy that helps people have a better sex life.  It can help partners and spouses talk about sexual issues and share sexual preferences.  It can help individuals identify and address disorders that may have started with sexual abuse or trauma.  Sex therapy can also help people change behaviors that are out of control and/or cause distress.  It can help individuals and partners develop healthy, trusting, sexual relationships.

Sex therapy will never include any kind of sexual contact between the client and therapist.  You will never be asked to act out sexual behaviors in front of the therapist.  Professional boundaries are maintained at all times.

Your first visit with me will include going over the preliminary paperwork, including biographical, medical, mental health, and relationship information.  You will have an opportunity to talk about your concerns and what you would like to accomplish.  Additional sessions will be used to further assess concerns, explore sexual history, and begin working toward desired goals.
