My experience working in church ministry opened my heart to the human condition and provided the catalyst for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I became interested in sex therapy after starting in private practice. I was one of the rare counselors who made it a point to ask people about their sex lives. And, guess what? Most of them wanted to talk about sex but didn't know how to broach the subject.
My counseling approach begins with the client/counselor relationship and learning how to love yourself and others. Because balance is important to overall health, you can expect me to ask you about relationships, faith, fun, family, and sex.
In my personal life, I keep balance through healthy eating, exercise, prayer, creating abstract art, writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends. I've been married for more than 38 years and have first hand experience with the highs and lows of building a healthy relationship!
My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I received sex therapy training through The Buehler Institute in Newport Beach, California. I am a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Certified Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
I would love to help you make positive change in your life!
Grace & Peace, Yvette
